Owner Dick is not customer-friendly at all. He changes everything at the last minute in a very unfriendly way. The movers themselves are nice guys, genuinely willing to help, and work quickly. There was some damage and broken planks. Owner Dick just stood there and watched. We discussed additional costs verbally afterward, which was fine, but charging even more on top of that wasn't fair. It all worked out in the end.
Where should I begin? I received the quote quickly and agreed to it. He was supposed to deliver free moving boxes. The moving date was set for April 16, 2025. Dick was supposed to deliver the boxes on the agreed-upon date, but he didn't show up three times. He hasn't contacted me. Two days before the move, Dick delivered moving boxes (from Action, perhaps). On the day of the move, they delivered the wrong truck, too small. I had to make two trips. The items weren't handled carefully. The cabinet got scratched. I immediately took photos and reported them to Dick. He said he would fix it. He only started polishing on June 17, but he had the wrong color. It's now July 5, and we moved on April 16. Eleven weeks later, nothing has been resolved. Dick promises all sorts of things, doesn't respond to messages, or responds very late. So, everyone, that's my experience with Move IT.
I had a bad experience with this company. The owner/manager didn't keep appointments, didn't show up at the agreed-upon times, and then didn't respond, leaving me completely speechless. I had to follow up myself to reschedule. This happened several times before he actually showed up. He always had an excuse, and I never heard an apology. I had my belongings stored for seven weeks before they were moved to my new home. Unfortunately, my belongings hadn't been handled very carefully. Four items were significantly damaged, and they took photos of them, but then I heard nothing. I called again, and the manager said he would come by but didn't. I then sent another angry email requesting compensation for my damaged items, to which he said he would respond after the weekend. After four weeks, this still hasn't happened. Unfortunately, I ended up paying a fortune (€2000 for two half-day sessions) for extremely poor service.
The move itself went well; the movers themselves were friendly. Unfortunately, a box containing dishes and vases broke. It happens, but the manager said I would get a full refund. I went to great lengths to find all the products and prices, and emailed them all neatly, but no response. I emailed five times to ask for a response, received one email back saying they would get back to me, but never heard anything back. Very disappointing!
Friendly guys, the job was completed (a bit clumsily) on time. They advised me to make very clear agreements beforehand about the price and expected costs. My bill turned out to be much higher than I had anticipated. The hourly rate was agreed upon verbally and turned out to be excluding VAT, and more hours were needed than anticipated, that sort of thing. All in all, I didn't have a good feeling about it.
